Omron Calculators were made in Japan by Tateisi Electronics Co., Kyoto. Founded in 1933 by Kazuma Tateisi.
Omron was named for the district "Omuro" which was originally another name for Kyoto's Ninna-ji Temple, which is renowned for the exquisite cherry blossoms that bloom in spring.
Omron is in a class by itself. The cases are more colorful than any other brands. Unlike most early pocket calculators, Omrons bring often bright orange, yellow.
